These terms apply to every booking of 1605 Studio (Hazenkoog 9, 1822 BS Alkmaar, the Netherlands), operated by 1605 Publishers B.V. trading as 1605 Collective (KvK 83120335). By confirming your booking you agree to these conditions.
1. Booking
A booking becomes binding once we have sent a written confirmation (by email) and the invoice has been paid in full. You receive an invoice that lists the dates, rate, and any extras (lighting, grip, catering).
2. Rates and payment
- Day rate, half-day rate, and any add-ons are quoted in advance. Prices are excluding VAT.
- The full booking amount must be paid no later than 14 days before the shoot date. For bookings made less than 14 days in advance, payment terms are set so that funds arrive before the shoot.
- Late payment: we reserve the right to cancel the booking or refuse access to the studio. Statutory commercial interest and collection costs apply in line with Dutch law.
3. Cancellation
We hold the studio exclusively for you, so cancellation has a cost. The percentages below apply to the full booking amount.
- More than 30 days before the shoot: 100% refund.
- Between 30 and 7 days before the shoot: 50% refund, 50% kept.
- Less than 7 days before the shoot: 0% refund, full amount kept.
- Same-day no-show: 0% refund, no replacement day.
You can reschedule once free of charge if the new date falls within 60 days and we have availability. Beyond that it counts as a new booking.
4. What is included
- Use of the 263 m² shoot floor, kitchen, and lounge.
- Basic Aputure lighting kit, backdrops, grip, and Wi-Fi.
- On-site host or studio manager during your shoot day.
- Free parking on site.
Extras such as additional lighting, props, talent, or catering are quoted separately and confirmed in writing before the shoot.
5. House rules
- The studio is non-smoking. Smoking is allowed outside.
- No pets allowed.
- No glitter or confetti in the studio.
- Music allowed inside; please respect the neighbours when working with doors open.
- Set up and break down within your booked window. Overrun is invoiced at €150 per started hour (excl. VAT).
- Leave the studio in the state you found it. If the studio is not returned in its original state we charge a flat cleaning fee of €150 (excl. VAT).
6. Damage and liability
- You are responsible for damage to the studio, equipment, or third-party items caused by you, your crew, talent, or clients during the booking.
- You confirm you have valid liability insurance covering professional shoots. We can ask for proof.
- Our liability is limited to the booking fee paid for the shoot in question, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. This limitation applies to business bookings.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, including loss of footage or postponed deadlines.
- Complaints about the studio, the course of the shoot, or the invoice must be reported to us in writing (by email) within 14 days of the shoot date. After that, the right to claim or compensation lapses.
7. Use of the space and rights
You retain copyright of everything you create in the studio. We may take a few behind-the-scenes shots of the space during your shoot, with your permission and without showing talent or sets in detail. We never publish work in progress or final imagery without written consent.
8. Force majeure
If we cannot host your shoot due to circumstances beyond our control (fire, flooding, power outage, government measures), we offer a full refund or a free reschedule. We are not liable for costs incurred elsewhere.
In case of illness on your side you can reschedule the booking free of charge to another date within 90 days, provided you submit a valid doctor's note. For other unforeseen circumstances on your side the cancellation policy in section 3 applies.
9. Privacy
We process personal data according to our privacy policy.
10. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes that cannot be resolved by talking are submitted to the competent court in the district of Noord-Holland, without prejudice to the mandatory rules on the absolute jurisdiction of the cantonal court.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. For ongoing bookings, the version that applied at the time of booking remains in force. For new bookings, the version published on this page at the time of booking applies. The date at the top of this page indicates when the current version was last updated.
